MEDIATION
Mediation is a method to resolve your divorce disputes. This process affords clients the ability to control the outcome of their case. The clients are the ones making decisions regarding the disputed issues, and not a stranger in a black robe who knows nothing about the clients, their children, their assets and debts or the way in which they live.
Mediation usually consists of several joint meetings between the parties involved. At these meetings the parties identify and discuss the issues which need to be resolved in their specific case.
The mediator acts as a facilitator of the process, assisting the parties with their communication, providing information and suggestions, and posing questions to assist the parties in resolving their disputes. The mediator has specialized training to assist the parties in resolving their differences and recognizing the areas in which there is agreement.
Should any issue be unresolvable through this process, the mediator will advise the parties as to their other options for resolution.
The mediator can then prepare the proper paperwork to file with the Court for purposes of a final Judgment, allowing the parties to move forward with their lives.
